Most industrial computer systems come with standard RS-232 ports. Although RS-232 has been widely used, its transmission rate, transmission distance, and network capacity still have certain limitations. The RS-422 and RS-485 standards overcome the limitations of RS-232 by transmitting data and control signals using differential signals. ADAM-9520 isolation converter can transparently convert RS-232 signals into RS-422 and RS-485 signals. You do not need to modify any hardware or software on your PC. ADAM-9520 can help you easily establish an industrial grade remote communication system based on PC hardware. It can extend the communication distance by another 1200 meters (4000 feet) and support up to 256 connection nodes. The RS-485 network is used for half duplex communication, and the RS-422 network is used for full duplex communication.
